Focus Area: Health Benefit Exchange
One of the most noteworthy components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) provides for the development of state-level Health Benefit Exchanges (HBE) - also known as Health Insurance Exchange. As health plans determine their strategy for whether and how to participate in their own regional exchange. This new method of distribution will require a new orientation to nearly all aspects of health plan operations, including product design, eligibility, enrollment, customer service, self-service, portal capabilities, data analysis and reporting, and data exchange to name a few.
HTMS' HBE Service Line helps provide health plans with:
Training: Deep training on the impact of HBE customized to a particular plan's geographic region, including exploration of specific strategic decisions a plan needs to make and operational impacts
HBE Strategy: Work with a health plan to determine a strategy for how to participate in the regional HBEs
Gap Analysis: Identify gaps between as-is and future state, including resource and cost estimates for implementation
Implementation: Assistance in implementing an HBE strategy, ranging from project leadership to helping to fulfill specific functional roles as needed
